\u2022 Veles is the patron saint of cattle, wealth and wilderness. At the same time, he is also the ruler of the underworld, which is often presented as a meadow where the souls of the dead graze. He is the guardian of the divide between the world of the living and the dead. He is often depicted as an old man in a white robe with a shepherd’s stick and horns and sometimes as a young horned warrior. A bear and a bull are dedicated to him. Other symbols are the magical well of water of knowledge and oblivion.<\/p>\n
