Slovanská mytologie: Sudičky

• Sudičky (in Czech) / The spirits of destiny – in the Czech legends they have the form of white ethereal virgins or good grandmothers. They are dressed in a long dress and covered with a cloak. When they determine the fate of a child, they have candles in their hands. They appear at midnight after the birth of a child. And they usually stay outside and foretell the fate from the stars. The third spirit is usually identified with death. It is also typical to imagine a person’s life as a golden thread, which determines the length of his life and the oldest of them cuts it.⠀
